Works well enough, can have some issues if your going sonic fast, what I used to do is I'd keep half my foot on the board and just use the back of my shoe to stop when I was going really fast, otherwise you can have the issue of your foot touching the ground and bouncing back up if you're nervous and going to quick.
With sliding it takes a bit of practice to get down, best to practice on wet road, makes it 10x easier to pull off. Also you don't need gloves to do coleman slides if you're not going really fast, but when you're starting off its good to have them.
