>>3910460Yes, it is generic. Although, it manages to warm my heart like a few can with sophisticated works, artistic expression etc. In art, you have to differate between goal and execution. A goal may be to draw an ultra-realilstic portrait, convey an important message, present a unique style in order to be able to show a new light on how a piece of art should be perceived, or just to draw a neat-looking pair of sunflowers. I am but a simple man though, I care more about the latter, how well-drawn is the piece, more than what is it trying to do over that (if it does). Baku's works are just cute drawings, mostly of touhou characters, not much beyond that, nothing really interesting, there are LOTS of artists that do exactly the same thing. Yet, where most of those images are "just" cute, he manages to convey the pure essence of moe, despite theoretically doing the same thing as all the others do. I find it great not because it's interesting or anything, I do, because they are results of mastery in what he is doing. You and me, we can both probably draw a house, with no peculiarities, but one of us will certainly do it better. The same goes here, everyone can draw cute pictures, but he is able to craft masterpieces, some of the cutest ones I have ever seen in my life.
Now, I have risen him up in skill substantially to get my point across more clearly. He isn't THAT good, I don't think yet the last sentence in previous pargraph is one hundred percent true, SOME of them really are like that. At least to me~
I feel like I should go over this post once again, but I am a bit too tired to do so now, I hope that it all makes sense. Or at least most of it.
