True Germanics are Britain (west Germanic language English, Angles and Saxons historically from north Germany), Deutschland itself, Nederland, Danmark, Sverige, Norge, and Österreich. The Germanic languages evolved in two directions, one coming from the Gotland of Sweden, the other coming from east France, French ended up becoming too heavily influenced by the Romans and their Latin language thus causing the French Germanic orthography to be gradually lost to Latin orthography (though almost all European languages are influenced in some way by ancient Latin as well, French, Italian, and Spanish remain the most heavily immersed in it, Slavic and Germanic languages least so).
