i kept to myself as much as possible, read for about 7 hours a day and slept as much as i possibly could, only really came out of the room for meals, to get new books from the library and to talk to the doctors.
the actual fulltime mental hospital part wasn't so terrible but the psychiatric emergency room was FUCKED, i got spit on by a heroin addict, this middle aged woman was wailing and screaming and crying for literally 14 hours straight about wanting to die one bed over from mine, this guy tried to bite a nurse and got into a huge scuffle with the security, every patient was fucking terrifying and i couldn't leave this tiny little cramped spot for anything, i didnt get to eat or sleep for about 28 hours while this horrible horrible intern tried to get me to lie about my condition so i would have to stay there forcibly for 14 days instead of just the 4 i was there
