>>396885207 was the best year in my opinion. Maybe I'm just biased because I got here in 06 so a lot of my impressions of the site and culture were formed then, but I found that enjoyable, even up to about halfway through the Chanologyshit.
It was decent after Anonymousfags moved to their own protest site and stopped posting shit on /b/, but then once Swarmfront and later reddit drifted over and started derailing shit with their "muh politics" bullshit this site became even more and more shitty. That being said, 2011-2013 wasn't bad at all and more like 07 than 2014-today. This site has become a shell of it's former self. Newfags unironically believe that old-/b/ was a rightwing hugbox, when really old-/b/ just did the nazi shit because it was unacceptable in the existing internet culture at the time. Nobody actually wanted to be a nazi, but it was funny.
I've said this before but:
Old 4chan:
Culturally contrarian
Politically neutral
New 4chan
