I've been here too, I hope not but I try not to get too emotionally attached with these things because I don't have faith they'll work out. I've dated IRL but I always find myself more comfortable with online relationships maybe even because I never get that hope that it could last forever and the honeymoon stage seems to last longer.

My condolences anon, this unearths the root of the situation. Several things may have happened in his real life, like getting a girlfriend, or being afraid of getting closer to you.
