I'm a simple man, give me a mecha anime and I'll probably watch it. Helps that they got most of the old Gainax team across Trigger and Meme-1 working on Franxx and I'm getting a lot of Diebuster vibes.
Copy/past means nothing when you consider something like Fafner which is one of the most blatant Eva clones out there is also arguably the greatest real robot anime of all time.
