Umm... No it's not? There are actual vacuum pumps you know that right? It's not a perfect vacuum but the amount of space vs the amount of particles still leads to having empty space there

It's not a matter of advantage. You can perform experiments with things and measure their properties, but you can't do the same with empty space. It's just an ethereal thing that you have to accept that exists so that you can think about everything else. I don't know, or maybe I'm full of shit.

I think we won't be able to address this sort of question until we come to grips with the ontology of the physical laws. Right now the most fundamental things in the universe seems to be wave functions, but it's not clear what the combined wave function of the universe is supposed to look like, since it's not clear what a measurement is/what the collapse of the wave function is about.

Well I guess unless you believe that particles can be infinitely subdivided AND these subdivisions are somehow mathematically uncountable. Then you could in fact pull some proof out of your ass that for any space you pick, no matter how small, there will always be at least one particle in it.

But that is not a statement of fact at this point that's based on assumptions

Well if you want to fill the whole space with particles, then any cube in the universe has to have a particle in it. Using real numbers you can stick uncountably many cubes inside any cube, so the number of particles also would have to be uncountable
