My wife hit me, like punched me in the face. I have no idea what to do /pol/.

She has never done anything like this before, never shown any overt aggression to this, or any degree. I had no idea what to do, if I should hit her back or what. She was holding the baby so that was a big part of why I didn't do anything back, but even if she wasn't what could I do? If I hit her, I get fucked and lose everything, she will be the one bruised and I will be the wife beater while nobody believes that she hit me first. I haven't talked to her since, not sure if I need to file for divorce or what. This is fucked up...
