Do you have trouble living with your younger self, /bant/? Lemme tell you a story that still really gets to me to this day. I'm not sure I'll ever live it down

>be me
>8
>had a neighbour who was autistic, low-IQ, struggled at school
>kind of friends, although his low-IQ and tism made it hard to really have much fun, he wasn't really "on my level" when it came to jokes, interests etc.
>he liked me a lot though, for some reason he actually got something out of our interaction
>go to school
>see my friends, all having a good time
>they are subtly laughing at the autistic neighbour, he ran bent over with his arms pointing up in the air
>he was making motorbike noises
>I made a comment, don't remember what it was, but my friends found it hilarious
>literally start pointing, shouting at him
>he stops and looks at us
>sees me stood with them, laughing at him
>runs away like a tard
>fast forward a few days, literally every break time my friends have spent mocking him
>the final bell rings for home time
>I see him on the way back
>he shyly says hi before scurrying off, which wasn't that unusual for him
>we get home about the same time
>the moment he steps in his garden I hear from my house him screaming, crying "they just won't stop, they won't stop, I thought he was my friend"
>he stopped ever calling me
>literally never saw him make another friend
>too this day, he is 23 years old and doesn't have any friends
>mfw I still think about it to this day
