>he updated it because that's how science works
Except science doesn't work like that.
Science depends on the scientific method. In order for the scientific method to be fulfilled, the researcher must
1 - Notice a pattern empirically
2 - Gather the required information around the pattern
3 - Formulate a hypoethesis
4 - Run a formal study with the gathered data, plus more data while the study goes on
5 - Analyze the gathered data in order to see whether the hypothesis is proven to be true or false, or if there's insufficient data, in which case go back to step 4
6 - Publish the pattern, data, hypothesis, study and conclusion for them to be reviewed by other researchers.
All of this, while keeping in mind that the most simple interpretation is the correct one until the opposite is proven.
That gender bullshit? It hasn't gone through the scientific method. They believe they see a pattern (1), formulate a hypothesis (3), and maybe, just maybe, gather some selective data (2), and for them, that is enough proof. And if anyone dares to question it (6, the most important step), they're wrong, bigoted and anti-science. Because the social "sciences" they've studied are held only by fallacies, so they can do nothing but sophistry.
