The reason Americans can eat their burgers undercooked is they treat their ground beef with ammonia. It's not advisable in our part of the world to eat undercooked beef because we don't spray chemicals on it.

I actually cooked a pork chop in the microwave once because it was my only option. Surprisingly it wasn't tough at all.
