Ban guns, ban loopholes, only allow hunting rifles and hunting licenses after background checks, confiscate guns. It won't solve the problem but it will make the situation less shit in the next 50 years.
But of course no goverment is gonna anger the gun lobbies and a shit ton of redneck voters for a long term plan that will actually help the country they govern
