>>416559Probably the new ones. Regular menu MRE's are Meal, Dessert, Cheese or Peanut Butter, Bread or Crackers, Side, Snack, Drink Mix, Drink, Drink. Sometimes the Dessert and Snack end up being kind of the same thing, but not usually candy.
>>416583Outside of Ranger School and odd training, I only ever used MRE's overseas as one of two things: a meal to put in my dump pouch in the odd case we needed to stay longer than the few hours a raid takes or in the case that we were intentionally planning to ROD.
In either event, I would open 3-4 good MRE's and pre-package a Giganigga MRE for the same space.
>>416587I don't think there is anything wrong with our MRE's taste wise when referring to the regular menu MRE's or the Cold Weather MRE's. The First Strike MRE's were shit, but they also served a different purpose (they were entirely finger foods that you could eat in a vehicle, on the go, etc).
When you're hungry, food tastes good, and I don't have a single bad memory regarding MREs. In fact, many of my MRE memories are some of my fondest.
Cracker challenges during RIP, Chocolate shake pudding in Ranger School, making Sloppy Joe + Cheese + Cheez Its (when they were packaged together). Good times.
