Super mega coffee expert. ID:1DRxA3hs No.4190004 Report I've been drinking it since I was 14. I kinda wish I could get out of this addiction, but moderating it it can be okay. Currently drinking pic related.
If you really REALLY want to drink good coffee there is only one way to do it:
-You must buy the roasted beans in a sealed bag, with ziplock, and only take them out right before grinding and brewing it.
Contact with air will oxidize the natural oils present in the beans. This is the main reason why ground coffee is packaged in vacuum and why you should only take out the beans of the bag right before brewing.
-You must have a GOOD coffee grinder, that grinds all into UNIFORM, SAME SIZED particles. Grinding is the most vital part of the process, don't buy one of these double edge grinders, these are the most basic ones.
Often the main difference between good and bad coffees is how uniformly grinded is the coffee. If they're not uniform the smaller particles will burn and the bigger ones will only be partially used. Bad grinding will cause it to either taste watery or burnt.
I cannot stress this point enough. Because of ignorance of this most people have never tasted coffee that was not burnt, and believe that's how it is supposed to taste.
-And lately, it is said that the most efficient method of preparation is the french press, because all the particles mix better with the water, though I personally prefer the italian coffee maker because that's what I've always used and because good french presses are rare to come by, most always leak some residue into the liquid.
These are my two thousand cents on the matter. I just have to say that please stay away from the soluble crap. It's the nastiest kind of coffee ever to exist. It only tastes good the first two or three cups of every pot, then once it's been in contact with fresh air for a day it's garbage.
