>>4189193>yeah, me neitherWait, that's wrong. I live next to gypsies. I have a couple of anecdotes regarding this.
Once, I was in a line and some gypsy was in front of me. As he was putting his change in his pocket, a bill fell out. So I caught up to him, patted him on the shoulder and gave him back the bill and told him he'd dropped it. The way he looked at me, that disbelief on his face was incredible. He said "Thanks" and kept staring at me for a couple of more seconds. Now I think he had literally never seen human kindness.
Then another time, I saw an old gypsy woman in my neighbourhood lugging a huge shopping bag. I thought she probably lives in the neighbourhood so i offered to carry it for her until she gets home. She looked at me like she was scared and she turned me down. Probably thought I was going to rob her. Had the same thing happen with a bulgarian pensioner and she accepted my help and everything. Pensioners get a big ol' bag of beans and lentils and rice and flour from the government ahead of winter and she looked like she was struggling with it.
>>4189303the annecdotes part is pretty funny and refers to colloquialisms that still exist today
