or just simply expand through the galaxy. the little circles are wormholes, they are linked with eachother.
the bonuses your spaceshp and adquire are attack, colonization power and speed.
attack gives a bonus to your attack (and defense) roll
colonization power gives a defensive bonus to the tiles you conquer, basically
speed permits you to skip tiles while expanding, allowing you to scape or invade further
