In the case of you crashing your car, it was either faulty decision making, the faulty decision making of another driver, or something completely out of either driver's control.
If someone is morbidly obese because they put too much butter in their food, then yes, they put too much butter in their food because they like it. But their enjoyment of greasy disgusting food should not trump the fact that they will become fat and unhealthy.
That is where the decision making comes in.
It is a value judgement. It just depends on how good you are at judging different values.
