For example it was "normal" for people in the US to have a "nuclear family" (one husband, one wife, 2 kids, a dog, a house, a stable job, hate gays, hate masturbation, and to be patriotic without question) back in the 1950s in the US. No one is really completely "normal" as all humans have unique traits and behaviors. There is only your ambitions, and what you desire/like/want in life, and those are at least in part, shaped by the society you live in.
