Had to go to court a few days ago, want to share my story with you anons.

>be me
>go to court for a traffic ticket
>was blown away by the dynamic range of individuals at the court system
>ranging from lawyers to crack heads
>go in talk to the prosecution, get a plea and then go into the courts to wait for a judge to find finalize

Now while waiting I saw some of the most funniest shit I've ever seen.

>as I sit down to wait for my turn to be called, some 67 year old crackhead is called to the stand
>crack head gets up, and the judge reads his case
>the dude was riding his bike and he ran a red light and what a fucking coincidence there happened to be a cop that was also on a bike
>hot pursuit ensured, and anon was pulled over.
>given a ticket for running a red light.. On a bike
>anyways the judge asked the crackhead if he had anything he wanted to add before judgement was passed.
>crackhead says with a straight face "yeh I had to go to the toilet and the light wasn't changing"
>judge just stares at him, the prosecution jumps in and starts telling the judge about how the crackhead is going through financial difficulties at the moment, and all this other sad shit.
>judge says "well that doesn't really matter since there's no fine for this charge. The defendant is free to go"
>crackhead gets up and leaves, happy as fuck.

I don't understand why ticket someone if there is no fine associated with the charge lol?
