The overuse of dukeposting is what led to its downfall. Because dukeposting was an American thing, the American majority on the board spammed it nearly to death in the months following the creation of dukeposting. Had dukeposting been related to any other nation other than the US, it would probably still be as big today as it was back then, but it wouldn't have been nearly as popular. The remnants of dukeposting can be likened to fossils from bant's past. The fans of dukeposting simply can't accept the fact that old /bant/ is effectively dead, similar to the state of the game series which duke belongs to. As much as I like telling yuropeons, trapposters and gayposters to blow it out their ass, sometimes you have to come to terms with reality. And that reality is that /bant/ has been taken over by ERP'ing fags, /int/ and /pol/ crossboarders, and [s4s] shitposters.
