For instance, when creating a whole map there isn't always a southwest distinction, but there certainly can be.
For instance, Oklahoma is in the southwest, but if there is no southwest on the map, it's generally in the south. Missouri goes either way, depending who's making the map.
There's also many other regions you can create. Even just timezones are really their own regions.
