I use a Tippmann A-5 with Response Trigger and remote line.

A regular paintball gun would work but the pepper balls as I said really turn the paintball gun into a defensive weapon.

I can't legally own a gun for another 3 and half years, otherwise I would go for a real Russian AK-47, if it's legal in the US - which it should be.
Or a P90, probably the P90 as I would have a hard time finding a real AK-47.

I already own a Russian SKS (I don't keep it for home defense, it's for hunting and recreational shooting), and having a mid-powered rifle as home defense is not very good, because it will blow through the target and through a neighbors wall and possible injure or kill an occupant of a neighboring house. 00 buckshot is slow enough to not do that, as is standard 9mm out of a 3 inch barrel. P90s are also supersonic are would over penetrate at close range. You can buy rifles and shotguns at 18, and pistol at 21 in almost all US states.

You can do this in rich neighborhoods in America too. I was shocked growing up when one of my friends from a city started worrying when I told him I walked alone to school. I said "well yeah why is that weird", he then proceeded to tell me how people where he's from get mugged , shot, stabbed, etc everyday and you can't ever do anything alone.

I think my neighbors know how to throw knives, since I've actually seen them throw knives at a tree in their backyard for some reason

Ever thought about owning a nice paintball gun for self-defense?

The SAR12C series is extremely high end if you have the money, otherwise a Spyder Kingman or Tippmann 98 would work for you.

Just make sure you get the remote line so your CO2 tank isn't exposed to enemy fire and get a response trigger for full auto fun.

For that price you could get a high end M1a, or 2 Glocks (or any 2 decent semi-auto pistols) and a shotgun. I've got $900 in my SKS right now (with all accessories on, I usually keep them off). A paintball gun hurts really bad (I've been shot by one on my bare back), but not as bad as a beanbag round point blank (tested one while I was wearing a jacket and left a bigger bruise and hurt more).

I was held against my will for political reasons, I wasn't homicidal or suicidal.

Ok, I just thought you might've been underage. If you've lost your right to own firearms (from mental issues or any other), you might have to get them reinstated by a court, even after the 3 year wait. Because on a form 4473 it clearly asks if you've ever had you right to own firearms taken away by a court, or ever been deemed mentally incapable of owning firearms. You have to check your state laws, but in my state black powder single shot firearms are legal I believe, even if you've lost your right to bear modern firearms. Look it up for your state.

i threw it away years ago given it was a piece of shit. the scabard was fucking garbage and the pommel kept falling off. maybe it wasnt the exact same one but it was VERY VERY similar

No that sounds about right, the hilt is really cheap and after striking a with it a few times as a teen it loosened up.

You just needed to tighten the bolt on the inside, no need to throw it away unless it fell off completely.
