Darkness disappears under light, and even more so in bright light; ignorance is expelled by knowledge, and even more by greater knowledge. Realizing these words in the most direct, not figurative sense, firmly affirm that those who are striving for the knowledge of light and existence are unaware of the ignorance of God; that this transcendent Darkness of His is hidden in any light and eclipses any knowledge. And if anyone, seeing God, understood what he saw, it was not Him who saw, but something that exists and is knowable; God, in His supernatural being, surpasses the mind and the existent, and therefore in general is not anything that is known or exists, but exists supernaturally and is judiciously understood. And in conclusion: complete ignorance is the knowledge of the One who transcends all that is known.
