This originally aired in 1978.

Case Closed, Season 1 episode 8, "Pet Dog John Murder Case" depicts a dumb short retard, Conan, an individual who's even name is a ripoff of better detectives, solving a crime in which a man is murdered by proxy, using a dog trained to kill on command, and the murderer giving himself an alibi by delivering the command over the phone. This unoriginally aired in 1996.

Now, if you are thinking that Case Closed cannot get any more derivative and achingly painful to watch, you would be the biggest dummy ever, for not only does it rip off quality television, it also rips off itself, repeating the mysteries in it's own show, before it had reached fifty episodes even, it was already stooping to repetition. Truly the most terrible mystery series ever.
