Don’t just speak to the Weekend Warrior recruiter either, make sure to talk to the Navy recruiter too and don’t sign anything or fill out any paperwork until you’ve made a final decision. Recruiters are used car salesmen, I know this very well. I still get calls from the Army recruiter asking if I want to drop out of the Marine Corps DEP and switch to the Army.
Also don’t let them send you home with any paperwork, they’ll expect you to fill that out and start the process of joining their branch.
tl;dr talk to the navy and national guard recruiter and get as much info as you can before filling out any paperwork.
