The troops that marched on Washington were British troops from the Northern ilses consisting of the 4th, 21st, 44th, and 85th regiments of the professional British Army. Canadian volunteers numbered less than a regiment and were equipped by the Brits. You can say they participated, but they were not even in the majority, Brits and Scots were.
