>>4406412All it takes to kill is a piece of string. Weapons aren't the problem. I can't speak for this particular case because the only information I have is the video and his MAL page (if that's really him), but I think that two parts of the problem are that 1, mainstream media in general, not just anime, gives young adults unreasonable expectations of the real world, and 2, that sad people tend to surround themselves with more sadness. It's sort of masochistic, really. They listen to sad movies, watch sad things, shitpost and meme their literal crippling depression. If you need an example? Wojak. All it takes is a
>tfw no gf to bum people out, sometimes even if they themselves have girlfriends. It's strong empathy. Condense such a thing as that in an enclosed community, and eventually it becomes...a meme? A paradigm? Maybe just a shared sentiment?
To clarify, there's nothing wrong with dark humor or anything. It's just that too much of anything is a bad thing. Consider this: In order to make an antivenom...scientists first need a sample of the venom they're trying to resist.
As for the media point I mentioned earlier, some people really envy the characters they see on tv, or read about in books, or play as in the videogames. It's just human nature, and it's once again tied to empathy. Simply put, when they can't achieve these things, or when it seems "too hard", or they just aren't as lucky as a protagonist, it can degrade their self esteem and morale, bit by bit, like water dripping on stone. Some people can adapt to this, and they become aquaeducts, while many others just crack, chip, and wither away, eventually becoming ruins. The rarest of them all, though, is the person who constucts a vessel to catch the water in, and drinks of it to become stronger.
Sorry for the lengthy rant, but you get my point.
