i'd be down to use other stuff, but the professor is insistent that we use c++ or sometimes python
i get that it's because we teach our intro courses in c++ so that's the one everyone is guaranteed to know and having people turn in assignments in 8 different languages would be obnoxious, i just have a deep hatred of c++
