This elderly couple was expected to pay. 50 cents to check a balance, that is unheard of and is ridiculous.
Imagine you go to a store, and you have to pay. 50 cents to get cashed out, and no one else was expected to pay, would you be okay with that or would you be annoyed?
Tbh the store manager is an idiot though, I would've just told the elderly couple that we can check the balance when we use the card towards your purchase.
