My parents moved into a new home that came with 4 adult cats. 3/m, 1/fem, she got pregnant, had 5 kittens, I kept 2, gave the 3 other away, over time all 3 of those males died to either Coyote's or being hit by a car (we didn't have room to take in so many cats in a small house with 2 cats in there already, and 4 people).
Another female showed up, pregnant, and had 5 kittens too, we tried to give all of them away, and got down to 1 left, then the guy who I sold one of them to (sold, because we paid to have them immunized and neutered) gave it back to me with no refund because his landlord found out like 2 days later. He eventually got hit too.
So I now own the first stray mother and her two kittens, and my parents kept the second mother and her remaining kitten. The rest of the kittens were given to good homes. 2 confirmed deaths via car, and the other 2 possibly to Coyotes. I also found a cat skull while cleaning out the barn before we left, but one of the missing males had a chipped Canine tooth so it wasn't him, however it could have been the other one, although the skull looked fresher than when he was lost.
