You are facing racism daily and I feel terrible every time I read about an Afrikaner's murder. More racism is not the answer though. It's easy to hate an ethnicity if they are persecuting you. It's probably very hard to keep your humanity in that situation. But if you revert to hate and counter-racist racism, who will support you? And if you lose, what will your people be remembered for? A bunch of racist white farmers reaping the result of apartheid? If it were me, I would like to be remembered as a people almost wiped out by racist Africans. A people who fought, not for a skin colour, but for the survival of their minority culture. A people who, though persecuted, never became their persecutors. Never countered bigotry with more bigotry. Never killed out of hate, but out of self defense.
But, if my family or friends were murdered by racist Africans.... I have no idea how I would react. I hope I would have the strength to still be moral. But I don't know. I feel you my friend. And your feel hurts me. It's how I know I have empathy enough to hurt from another's pain
