But most importantly, you need to adapt whatever you pick to suit you and either use it creatively or make new content with it: even poorly made edits will do, but skilled use of images are like the punchline to a well-made joke. If you browse some of the reoccuring threads you can get a general idea of what to expect from /bant/: lots of small talk, some days can be slow. Large threads can last weeks or in some cases months while at the same time small ones can wink out in less than a couple hours, depending on the mood.
As for the namefagging, its optional really but since /bant/ has both flags and in-thread IDs its customary for people to eventually notice specific posters due to a combination of posting style and flag, so there isn't as much as an imperative to remain completely anonymous. Don't namefag for attention though, most of the people that do that tend to be hosers.
Some people tend to be a bit anal about what's posted. Aside from frogs where there's good reason to be wary (the best thing to do is not reply to their bait), most of them take things too seriously. Feel free to mess with them.
