Howdy Anon!
I just made my own BBQ sauce, Kansas style!
It's a lovely deep red tomato base, starting with tomato sauce and ketchup on medium heat. then to thicken it and give it sweetness is some brown sugar- a bit of red wine vinegar to give it some spunk, and more thickening with molasses. then we give it that smokey flavor with Hickory flavored liquid smoke and some savory-ness with good ol' butter. then we garnish the heck out if it with spices such as garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, celery seed, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper. Simmered it on 22 minutes of low heat and she came out lookin' redder than a red fox.
Gonna combine my secret pre-made-homemade chicken spice mix with some flour, rub it tenderly and deep all up on some chicken thighs, pan fry those suckers until the juices are literally leaking out of them and poppin' all over the pan like it's the 4'th of july and then at the very last second, brush that home-made sauce over it for some real good flavor.
