It gets fucking hawt here, and it also happens to get fuckin cold as well in other parts (has the coldest and hottest cities in the lower 48 by days over 100F and days under 32F).

Also contains some of the largest concentrations of Copper in the Earth's crust, and 7,000 metric tonnes of Uranium Oxide has been mined in northern AZ (enough to make 900 tonnes of enriched Uranium, or about 100 tonnes of nukes in the form of Plutonium), and the Grand Canyon has 2 Uranium mines and estimated reserves of U3O8 yet to be mined is over 10,000 tonnes. The largest individual nuclear reactor in the US is west of Phoenix (Palo Verde nuclear power plant), it is also the only large nuclear power plant in the world that isn't near a body of water (in the desert).

Also the Grand Canyon has more elevation range than some entire countries have. and is 18 miles at it widest and 6,100ft (1860m) at it's deepest. All of it is above sea level due to northern AZ having an average elevation of 5,000-7,000ft (1500-2100m) above sea level, southern AZ has an average elevation of 2,000ft (600m), and central AZ has an average elevation of 4,000ft (1200m).
