Hairloss is caused by a sensitivity to DHT. 5-a inhibitor drugs like finasteride and minoxidil help prevent the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone, which can halt, or at least slow down hair loss. Taking something like finasteride will increase testosterone for a while after you start, as less can get converted to DHT, but eventually the body figures out how to fix the problem of increased test, and starts converting more to estrogen. If you're sensitive to estrogen, you might get mood swings or puffy titties
