Humans have a need to be social. Some more than others. Me, I can be alone for weeks without any issue, but eventually I will get lonely. This place does a reasonably job of filling that desire just enough to fulfill the need, but with none of the baggage. I'm confident I could live in Alaska by myself indefinitely as long as I had an internet connection and not go insane. In fact I intend to.

It's not that I can't do it. I actually used to be ridiculously social. But every person that I started to know on a deeper level always inevitably started pissing me off, or I started pissing them off, or both. So I just took a break to fix myself. Pulled myself out of a deep depression and straight into workaholic mode, and at least until I graduate I really don't have any time to spare anyways. But it seems with every passing year I find another excuse to keep it going for a little while longer
