So this is why, unlike Discord, I don't imagine it being a real concern. But still, if there's actual evidence, whether in the terms of agreement (which nobody reads to begin with) or some kinds of leaks, then I'd be glad to say I'm wrong.
And the point of whether or not it is open-source doesn't really matter to begin with: you certainly get a lot more visibility into the whole thing, but it doesn't mean every program that is not open source is actively spying on you, which is why it is better to use logic and common sense.
