I'm going to Bavaria (for roughly a week or two) in the summer with a close friend of mine who moved here from Germany.

hofbräuhaus in munich is always fun
i live in garmisch-partenkirchen and there are some cool mountains to hike up if you like doing that
innsbruck is nice
all of these you can get to by the train
for munich a bayern-ticket is good because it gives you round trip for the train and it's also good for the s-bahn and u-bahn
i've heard prague is fun for a day trip since it's not too far away

maybe nürnberg is good too, i haven't really been there other than a stop-over for trains
can't think of anything else nearby but if you have time you some travel time you could go to to heidelberg, freiberg, berlin, amsterdam, vienna
