>>4782829yeah, i know how ignorant people can be regarding south africa. when i was a kid there was a chance for my father to start work in south africa and i remember him and his pals were joking about going there as if it apartheid was still alive and it was a first world, orderly country. this was in the late 90s or circa 2000 maybe. guess that's pretty close to the end of apartheid, but still. glad we never went there
i still remember one joke i heard was "if you get drunk and piss from your balcony, a black will run under your stream with an open mouth so the piss doesn't hit the ground and make a mess" or something to that effect. both implying the streets are very clean and that apartheid was still in effect.
