Scientists don't quite agree on when the last glacial period ended (which is strange because there is a general consensus on when the more distant ones began and ended) but their (((mainstream estimates))) vary from the year 12,000 BC to 20,000 BC with others claiming it could have been as far back as 40,000 BC. anyway, absolutely best case (if you dont want ice age) scenario is we are at 14,000 years since the last ice age and the next one is due in 1000 years. All other scenarios are.. We are already heading into ice age.
There is also a theory that the "maunder minimum" events are actually the death throes of an interglacial period that is beginning its transition into ice age.
