>>4850068>do you even liftI did, for a while, and I know lots of people who take it extremely seriously.
It's hard to get this across to someone who has no interest in actually thinking about it, but why is lifting hard? It doesn't really require a lot of skill. There's not a lot you actually have to do. All you have to do is pick up something heavy enough that you can only do it between 5 and 8 times. So long as you do this you literally cannot fucking fail, because that's how muscles work.
Most people stop lifting because it's boring and unpleasant and doesn't yield them results worth the effort, not because it's too hard for them.
If I give you a maths problem you can't solve, that's hard.
If I give you a trillion basic additions and tell you to solve them all, and for every one you solve you will get 0.0001% better at playing the flute, and you leave after 10 minutes because this is fucking boring and who cares about playing fucking flutes, is that hard? I'd say it's not.
>"but if it's so easy why isn't everyone fit? why are so many people fat?"Because most people don't really care. Gasp! Most people value pizza over abs.
I'm not saying it's easy and I'm not saying it doesn't take effort. I'm just saying that something requiring the IRL equivalent of grinding doesn't make it hard.
