Never said it was propaganda. Just that it's misleading. I highly doubt the creator meant it to be as misleading as it is but that's how it ended up. I've seen this exact map dozens of times and the lack of distinctions has always been the biggest issue. And the issue isn't with the lack of split for Islam as much as the split in Christianity make it seem like it's not more dominant (which it is). And no, most people don't know where the shias and ibadis are. Most people I'd wager don't know what either of those even are.
Also I specified the African part, where yes, most of the green is in fact desert.
