Post gods from your country's mythology and folklore.

This is Väinämöinen, the eternal wise man. Väinämöinen was born from the maiden Iro, after she accidentally created the world by shattering three duck eggs. Väinämöinen, with the help of giants and other gods, then created life on Earth as we know it.
He was worshipped as the god of magic, singing and music. Sometimes it is told that he was the son of the giant Kalevi, and he has been told to rule the province of Suomi (Finland proper) in ancient times.
Väinämöinen has many great adventures in Finnish myths. For example, he travels to meet a sleeping giant who knows secret magic; he almost dies when trying to slip into Tuonela, the underworld; he slays a giant pike and creates the first kantele from its jaws; and he competes for the hand of the maiden of the North, who is the daughter of Louhi, an evil witch. He is also the one who puts Ilmarinen the Eternal Smith to forge Sampo, a great magical item which brings eternal wealth to its owner.
