Also some tips for learning German (or any language)
1) Read in your target language, mostly online newspapers and pick out words you know, and infer using context clues.
2) Write your notes. Writing makes you remember stuff quicker because it takes a bit more effort.
3) Listen to things in your target language, so you get used to hearing it.
As a language nerd, I know good tactics and the like, but you do what you want! :D
