Light brown girls like in OP came into this world because the new colonies needed a population to inhabit and work the land, so the governments gave orders to the men back then to put babies in the native black/brown women they found there. Same thing happened in Indonesia by our Dutch VOC/WIC. Her kids could get lighter if she bred with a pure European, but they will always inherit the brown eyes/hair.
