I've been lied to /pol/, an apple is red because it reflects all red light not because its actually red. Its actually best described as everyone color BUT red. Can anyone prove this wrong?

white light is an infinite amount of colours. you shine white light onto an object and you see brown, the object is absorbing everything but brown, which is just reflected and hits your eye. the light does not penetrate the object, meaning it's not part of the object i.e not brown, but but we call that object brown because for all intents and purposes, it's brown.
