The heat is keeping me up, too. I would agree that any light source should be put out. Exercise isn't necessarily a good idea, but I guess everyone is different. For me, working out will help me to wake up. If you don't have any medication to induce sleep, consider off label options. Some medication is marketed to treat specific symptoms, but in reality, its effects are broader. For example, many antihistamines will help you sleep. Another thing that usually helps me (unless it is crazy warm out!) is drinking a warm, caffeine free beverage, like milk with a dab of honey, or nettle leaf tea. If all else fails, you could attempt visualization techniques, or meditation. Good luck.
