>>4991733A screenshot of Foster’s post, with his last name removed, was posted to the subreddit /r/oldpeoplefacebook[1] on August 19th, 2015, where it gained over 238 points (97% upvoted).[1] Another screenshot of the post, this time superimposed on a photograph of Foster, was posted to Imgur on September 25th, 2015, where it received over 19,000 views.[5] In early October, other Facebook users began posting the quote on the official profile of Bush’s Baked Beans; as of October 19th, 2015, hundreds of posts to the page have been made by users.[3]
A petition was created on
Change.org to both persuade Bush’s Beans to cast Bill Foster in a commercial, and to give him a lifetime supply of beans. The petition has gained over 730 signatures as of October 19th, 2015.[4]
