None of the Z fighters were able to even slightly hurt him during the actual movie.
Broly literally took a full power Kamehameha to the face and didn't flinch.
It took him about 20 seconds to leave Goku almost unconscious in a pile of rubble after their first fight and he basically quickly curb stomped all the Z fighters effortlessly like 3 or 4 separate times with ease, none of them could do anything to him. Like a grown man fighting a baby.
Then in the end a beaten up vegeta and a beaten up piccolo and baby gohan give Goku their remaining Chi and then bam he punches a hole through the dude?
I mean even if you argue it was a sort of spirit bomb punch type attack and he hit him in the scar he got as a baby its still a tremendous asspull that probably doesn't make sense and allowed them to defeat a character that otherwise was untouchable throughout the other 99.9% of the movie
